A Naples Tradition!  Races are held every January, March and October at the Florida Sports Park off of SR-951. 

Zoo: Naples Zoo 

Located off of Goodlett Frank Road in Naples Florida, the Naples Zoo is a nationally accredited zoo.  Enjoy viewing rare animals along with lush greens that were first planted back in 1919.

Center for the Arts: The Philharmonic Center for the Arts

The Naples Philharmonic has gone above and beyond to create an art center where visual and performing arts are included in one building.  Offering many different types of programs each week, The Phil is a must-do while in Naples.

Sail Marco is an American Sailing Association (ASA) Gold Star certified sailing school located on beautiful Marco Island. Marco Island is the largest of the Ten Thousand Islands, located on the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida, just South of Naples.

The "Learn to Sail" program at Sail Marco provides sailing instruction to novice and experienced sailors alike, and is dedicated to promoting the most rigorous, safety-first education and providing the best sailing instruction available.

Nature Preserves

Rookery Bay

Located at the northern end of the Ten Thousand Islands on the gulf coast of Florida, the Rookery Bay Reserve represents one of the few remaining undisturbed mangrove estuaries in North America.

An amazing world exists within the 110,000 acres of pristine mangrove forest, uplands and protected waters of Rookery Bay. Where rivers and streams meet the sea, a unique habitat is formed. A myriad of wildlife, including 150 species of birds and many threatened and endangered animals, thrive in the estuarine environment and surrounding upland hammocks and scrub found within the Reserve.

Corkscrew swamp 

A 2.25-mile raised boardwalk takes visitors through four distinct environments: a pine upland, a wet prairie, a cypress forest, and a marsh. Interpretive signs along the boardwalk and a field guide and Children's Activity Book available at the admissions desk in the Blair Center allow each visitor to take the self-guided tour. Benches and rain shelters are along the trail. For those who do not wish to walk the full 2.25 miles, an optional trail shortens the walk to one mile. Volunteer naturalists are usually on the boardwalk to answer questions. Allow about 2-3 hours

At any time you can expect to encounter plenty of mud, sand, bugs and knee deep water crossings.

Carla Bottalla aLevel 2 Zen Yoga Instructor and a Registered Nurse. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago and currently resides in Marco Island, Florida. She has been certified with the American Council on Exercise since 1998. Her main focus is on health promotion and body awareness.
